“Flood of Flesh”, is the first of the artists large scale paintings. Titled for the collection of flesh owning the left side on the canvas, this piece celebrates ‘excess’ flesh, the natural rolls that come with movement, playing with perspective and tone. This section critiques the shame surrounding these areas of excess, inflicted upon our bodies by diet culture. Adjacent to this fleshy collage sits a figure, crouched, feet toward the viewer. She looks down upon her audience as they look upon her body. This figure reflects the need for active agency within the representation of the female form.
